France: A committee composed of seven assembly members and seven senators has reached an agreement on the text of the
bill that aims to
ban disposable e-cigarette sales, manufacturing and free distribution. Disposables are defined as either a pre-filled product that cannot be refilled or a product with a non-rechargeable battery. Cartridges are explicitly excluded from the definition. The text needs to be approved by both chambers. Minister of health Catherine Vautrin
said that she will notify the European Commission about the bill, and the Commission will provide its opinion alongside the acceptance or rejection of the bill. The date of entry into force has yet to be determined.
