Shock reversal of smoke-free legislation in New Zealand concerns health experts

New Zealand’s radical smoke-free plans look like they will be a victim of cost savings designed to fund tax cuts being introduced by the country’s new government.

New centre-right prime minister Christopher Luxon, sworn in on 27th November, will look to repeal amendments to the Smokefree Environments and Regulated Products Act 1990 as part of his National Party coalition deal with nationalist political party, New Zealand First, according to the coalition agreements.
